Kakamega Senator, Dr. Boni Khalwale, has been given an ultimatum to apologize for allegedly defaming Nairobi Governor, Dr. Evans Kidero.

Through his lawyer, Prof. Tom Ojienda, Kidero demanded that Khalwale publish an apology in at least two newspapers of national circulation within three days of receiving the letter.

Prof. Ojienda stated,

Our client demands that you immediately and unconditionally prominently publish an apology to him in at least two leading newspapers of national circulation in the next three days of receipt of this letter.

Khalwale had accused Kidero of being involved in the collapse of Mumias Sugar Company during a rally in Mumias Sports Complex on Wednesday. However, on Friday, Khalwale refused to apologize, insisting that Dr. Kidero was among senior officials who stole billions of shillings from Mumias Sugar Company.
