On July 23, 2019, Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi agreed a new five-year contract worth over Sh12.9 million (£100,000) a week, putting an end to speculation over his future at the club.
The 18-year-old England international had handed in a transfer request in January after Chelsea rejected a Sh4.5 billion (£35m) bid from Bayern Munich.
However, he is set to sign the new deal before the start of the season, with new manager Frank Lampard playing a key role in convincing him to stay.
Lampard, who took charge of the Blues earlier in July, had praised Hudson-Odoi's talent, saying he could be a 'huge player' for the team and a 'world-class player'.
The teenager is recovering from an Achilles injury suffered in April and is on track for a quick return to action, potentially as soon as September.
