On July 23, 2019, US President Donald Trump congratulated Boris Johnson on his victory in the race to become Britain's new prime minister.
Trump, a self-proclaimed fan of Johnson, tweeted, "Congratulations to Boris Johnson on becoming the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He will be great!"
Trump had previously predicted that Johnson would fix the 'disaster' triggered by outgoing British premier Theresa May in trying to lead Britain out of the European Union.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said, "He's a different kind of a guy, but they say I'm a different kind of a guy too. We get along well. I think we'll have a very good relationship." By AFP More by this Author
