South African President Jacob Zuma denied rumors of an affair with Dudu Myeni, the chairwoman of state-owned South African Airways, following media speculation that the alleged relationship led to the dismissal of Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene.

Nene was dismissed by Zuma on Wednesday, after the minister had earlier criticized Myeni for mismanaging a 1 billion rand ($62.98 million) deal with Airbus. Myeni is also the executive chairwoman of the Jacob Zuma Foundation, a charitable trust.
