David Makali, the former Secretary General of the Labour Party of Kenya (LPK), was fired by party leader Ababu Namwamba on Thursday, February 16.
Makali was accused of forcing NASA's agenda on the party instead of working with Jubilee. He was immediately replaced after the party's National Executive Council meeting at the Olive Gardens hotel in Nairobi.
According to Ababu's announcement on Facebook, the changes were made during the meeting. However, Makali claims he was not present and was not informed of any complaints or grievances against him before the decision was made.
Makali stated, "No effort was made to inform me that there was any complaint or grievance against me nor even asked to respond before such a decision was made."
He has demanded an immediate retraction of the replacement and revocation of his duties, as well as an apology for the embarrassment caused. If not, he will take necessary restorative action.
