Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has accused the government of using Jubilee MPs and Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter to bribe voters. He specifically named Deputy National Assembly Speaker Joyce Laboso, Deputy Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, and CS Keter as leading the alleged bribery and rigging efforts.

According to Governor Ruto, who is also the leader of the Mashinani party and deputy team captain of the KANU MASHINANI coalition, voter bribery was reported at several polling stations, including Waldai Ward, Belgut Constituency, Teldet, Kaborok Pry, Kaborok TBC, Chepkoin, Cheribo, Sosiot Social Hall, Cheptenye, and Cheimen.

Ruto further alleged that KANU agents were denied IEBC badges, while unknown individuals, purportedly Jubilee-imported youths from Nakuru and Nairobi, were issued badges and allowed to enter polling stations.
