Additionally, the account raises questions about the company's actions during the 2013 election period. It claims that Nation Media Group purchased laptops and assigned reporters to cover election results in various constituencies, potentially creating a parallel tallying system.
When the IEBC's system failed, the company reportedly planned to release its own results but ultimately did not do so. The laptops, along with the collected data, were retrieved, leaving some reporters wondering if their work was used to facilitate electoral manipulation.
These concerns, combined with the impending purge of journalists ahead of the 2017 elections, have raised suspicions about the motivations behind the dismissals.
