Akothee, known as Kenya’s ‘richest singer’, recently shared her experience of trying to help a fellow artist, Princess Julie, who is well remembered for her song ‘Dunia Mbaya’.
Akothee took to her Instagram to reveal that she had offered a helping hand to Princess Julie, who is rumored to be living in abject poverty. Akothee invited Julie to her house in Mombasa to discuss ways to revive her dying career.
However, trouble ensued when Princess Julie’s son allegedly took a picture with Akothee and uploaded it on social media. According to Akothee, Princess Julie clapped back at her, saying, "Stop posting my photos with Akothee on Facebook, people will see her with me and think she has given me millions and there is nothing she has helped me with," (translated from Luo).
The two eventually had a falling out, and Akothee was forced to kick her out of her house. Additionally, Akothee and Jully’s son are also reportedly beefing over allegations that the Benefactor song was an idea originally from his mother’s (Jully) lyrics, as reported by Edaily.
Akothee shared her full story on Instagram, detailing her experience with Princess Julie.
