On July 23, 2019, the DCI Headquarters was abuzz with activity as Erick Adede, a key figure in the Jubilee Party, was seen visiting the premises.

Adede's rise to prominence began in 2017 when he ran for the Homabay Town Constituency seat, but lost the party's primary to current MP Peter Kaluma. Undeterred, he decamped from the Orange Party and joined Jubilee, where he was sponsored to vie for the same seat.

As a Jubilee operative, Adede was known for his close ties with William Ruto, whom he affectionately referred to as 'my president.' His frequent visits to Annex and Harambee House only added to his reputation as a key player in the party.

However, Adede's claims of being a 'woke' Luo liberal have been met with skepticism, particularly after he was granted a special pass by Barclays Bank and awarded a safe. The privilege has raised eyebrows, with many wondering if his political connections with Jubilee and Ruto's office played a role in securing the favor.

The DCI, led by George Kinoti, is now under pressure to unravel the mystery behind Adede's preferential treatment. As the investigation unfolds, Kenyans are eagerly waiting for answers to the questions surrounding Adede's rise to prominence.
