A group of Kenyan music promoters received a detailed list of requirements from Diamond Platnumz's management team, which included specific demands for transportation, accommodation, and performance fees.
The email from Diamond Platnumz's management outlined the following terms:
- Transportation: 8 economy and 2 business class return air tickets, as well as local transport during their stay.
- Accommodation: 4 double rooms, 1 single room, and 1 presidential suite room.
- Performance Fee: $40,000 per show, with a potential increase of $5,000 if booking is delayed until after the release of their new track.
- Technical Rider: The team requires two wireless Sure Brand Microphones, a glass stage with trussing and LED lights, and a backstage area with air conditioning, security, and refreshments.
The message also specified that the performance would last 2 and a half hours, and that no one except for two security personnel and the DJ would be allowed on stage during the show. Additionally, any video shooting would require special agreements between WCB and the client.
The demands have sparked a reaction, with some expressing surprise at the extent of the requirements. However, others argue that Diamond Platnumz is justified in making these demands given his status as a prominent African music star.
