Former Nairobi Mayor George Aladwa was arrested by Flying Squad officers on a Friday morning, according to reports.
Aladwa, a CORD leader, was taken into custody at the Railways Club and transported to Kilimani police station for questioning.
Prior to his arrest, Aladwa had made statements suggesting that violence might be necessary for Raila to become the fifth President of Kenya, stating that people must be ready for war in 2017 and implying that they would not stand idly by if they believed the election was being stolen.
The remarks sparked widespread outrage, prompting many Kenyans to demand his arrest. The Director of Public Prosecutions, Keriako Tobiko, subsequently ordered Aladwa's arrest and instructed CID Director Ndegwa Muhoro to investigate the matter.
Aladwa now faces charges similar to those against Johnson Muthama and Moses Kuria.
