Dominican Republic Radio Hosts Killed On-Air

Two radio presenters were shot and killed during a live broadcast in the Dominican Republic on Valentine's Day, February 14.

Luis Manuel Medina, a journalist, was reading the news when unidentified attackers entered the renowned station and shot him dead.

Leonidas Martinez, the radio station's director, was also killed in his director's box shortly before Medina's death.

The incident occurred in San Pedro de Macoris, east of the capital Santo Domingo.

Attorney General Jean Rodriguez stated,

The investigations have begun and we will try, with all the means in our powers, to reach the truth.

Footage shared on Facebook showed Luis Manuel Medina's broadcast interrupted by gunfire, followed by a woman screaming 'Shots! Shots!'

Two suspects have been arrested as investigations into the motive behind the killings continue.
