Jackson Onunga posted a viral advertisement seeking a wife who could help him with business and farming activities. His poster spread quickly on social media, with many finding his approach amusing.
Onunga specified that he wanted someone willing to engage in these activities and invited interested women to contact him by March 30, 2017.
After receiving numerous responses, Onunga chose Pauline Akinyi from Kisumu, whom he described as overqualified. According to Onunga, out of over 800 calls, only 12 women seemed serious and committed.
As Onunga told The Nairobian, "800 people called me but only 12 appeared to be serious and committed. Pauline came to me from Kisumu, having seen my story in the paper. She was overqualified! She is young, humble and soft-spoken, and genuinely cares for me."
The couple has begun making plans for their future together, including getting married in a church ceremony. Onunga stated, "We have already begun our marriage. We will make it official in a church in a few months, but as of now, we are husband and wife."
