A well-established Kenyan company seeks a Vehicle Mechanic Welder for a position based in Mogadishu, Somalia. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding metal components, fabricating, and repairing heavy mechanical products, military vehicles, and construction equipment according to specifications and production schedules.
To be eligible, applicants must have international experience and be willing to work in Somalia.
Key Responsibilities: ¶
- Perform welding duties using various techniques, including Gas, Arc, Mig, and Tig welding.
- Weld steel components, such as armor plates, following procedures and oral instructions.
- Set up and lay out work using fixtures and guides to repair, modify, or fabricate parts and equipment products.
- Operate related equipment and tools, including forklifts, hoists, and hand tools.
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance tasks and troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Follow job order specifications, work instructions, and procedures.
- Maintain performance levels according to KPI standards and participate in process improvement programs.
- Use computer systems to access documents and perform other assigned duties as qualified.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures and regulations.
Qualifications: ¶
- High school diploma required.
- At least 8 years of welding experience necessary.
- Experience in heavy equipment manufacturing is preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use a mouse and locate files, are desirable.
The monthly gross salary for this position is approximately Ksh. 102,000 (USD 1,200).
