Caroline Mutoko, a radio personality, has denied claims that she vowed not to employ any University of Nairobi (UoN) graduates at Radio Africa Group following a demonstration over a school fees increase.
According to Mutoko, the saddest thing about people who lie and lie wildly to get attention is that they never check their facts. She listed several points to counter the claims made against her, including that she does not drive a Mercedes, did not witness any of the drama during the demonstration, and does not have the authority to hire employees at Radio Africa.
Mutoko emphasized that public university fees will inevitably increase due to rising academic staff costs, institutional costs, and demands for higher pay by non-academic staff. She encouraged students to seek solutions rather than resorting to violence.
Mutoko also stressed the importance of individual decision-making, stating that degrees, payslips, income tax returns, bank loans, and electricity bills all bear individual names. She criticized the chaos and thuggery that occurred during the demonstration, saying it was beneath the standards of an institution of higher learning.
In conclusion, Mutoko expressed pity for the person who crafted an elaborate lie about her, stating that she has already achieved her goals and is living her dream on her own terms.
