Nation Media Group’s Broadcasting Manager, Linus Kaikai, faces potential dismissal after ejecting Imenti Central MP, Gideon Mwiti, from a live television show.
The MP was being interviewed by QTV News Anchor Thelma Mwadzaya about his recent decision to accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior when Kaikai interrupted the broadcast, citing company policy against hosting suspects.
A source at the Kimathi Street-based media house disclosed, "He ejected the MP from the live show to the embarrassment of the entire Nation Media Group."
Following the incident, the MP lodged a complaint with Nation Media Group management, leading to Kaikai’s summons for a disciplinary hearing.
Kaikai’s management style has been questioned, with a senior manager at Nation Media Group stating, "His management is wanting. That is why his powers are continuously being clipped. He was former CEO Linus Gitahi’s blue-eyed boy. There is a high doubt his below-par performance will be stomached by the new boss."
