A 21-year-old waitress, who prefers to remain anonymous, believes she was removed from a Spirit Airlines flight due to her choice of clothing, which she thinks was deemed too revealing.
The incident occurred on a flight from New Orleans to Fort Lauderdale. According to the woman, flight staff accused her of being heavily inebriated, but she claims this was just an excuse to remove her from the flight to make room for another airline employee.
The woman stated that a flight attendant advised her to cover up her cleavage, saying, "They mentioned that my body was too exposed and it was obvious that it was my breasts."
To support her claim, the woman asked a fellow passenger to take a photo of her outfit. She expressed feeling extremely embarrassed by the incident, stating, "I feel awful. I can’t sleep. It’s really affecting me."
The woman also believes that if she had a smaller breast size, she would not have drawn attention. She said, "I just feel like if I was smaller, or somebody with a smaller breast size, that there would be no attention brought."
Additionally, she mentioned that other witnesses told her the flight staff brought on a crew member to take one of the empty seats, further supporting her belief that she was removed to make room for someone else. She said, "What I’m hearing from other witnesses is that they brought on a crew member to take one of the empty seats."
Spirit Airlines denies these claims, stating that the woman’s removal was due to her intoxication and complaints from other passengers about her behavior. A spokesperson for the airline said, "The woman’s cleavage played absolutely no role in her removal. The woman was removed because she was intoxicated and other passengers complained about her behavior."
