A religious Christian institution is recruiting a proactive and self-driven individual to fill the position of a Facilities Manager.

The ideal candidate will be interested in working for a Christian organization and thrive in a challenging work environment with multiple projects and facilities to manage.

Job Purpose and Summary

The Facilities Manager will coordinate and oversee the optimal, safe, secure, and environmentally sound operations and maintenance of the institution’s physical infrastructure assets in a cost-effective manner.

  • The goal is to achieve long-term preservation of asset value and efficient and effective operations of the Ministry teams, ensuring end-user satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setting up systems and strategies and constantly reviewing them in consultation with the Head of Facilities.
  • Advising the Leadership about the potential impact of their decisions on the provision of space and services.
  • Managing matters concerning Health and Safety, including compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Implementing Fire Safety policies, including training, drills, and maintenance of firefighting equipment and systems, as well as risk assessments.
  • Overseeing Maintenance Systems, including preventative and predictive maintenance, corrective/reactive maintenance, grounds maintenance, and horticulture.
  • Being in charge of overall security, periodic testing and inspection of various systems, and other operational elements, such as waste management and car parking.
  • Preparing Maintenance and Operational budgets, insuring physical infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Training institution staff on relevant disciplines, such as fire drills and evacuation, and updating and maintaining consultant and contractor databases.
  • Oversighting caretakers/campus facilities managers.

Minimum Requirements

  • A first degree in Property Management, Building Economics, Construction Management, or a relevant field.
  • A diploma in Facilities or Project Management is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a busy work environment offering technical support services.
  • Being a born-again Christian is required.
  • Built environment experience is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in premises and facilities management, as well as resource mobilization, is necessary.

The salary budget for this position is Kshs. 90-100,000 Gross.
