A pre-flight information bulletin issued by the Authority on Monday indicated that Obama was expected to arrive in Kenya between 7:45 pm and 8:35 pm on Friday. This information was shared with airlines and travel firms and later obtained by local media.
According to Business Daily, at least one influential US media channel described the publication of these details as a 'stunning breach of protocol,' prompting White House security officials to consider changing the schedule.
Secret Service officials contacted by Fox News declined to comment on the matter.
President Obama's itinerary during his three-day visit to Kenya had been closely guarded by both the government and the US embassy.
