On July 23, 2019, Wazito FC was in mourning after learning of the passing of Paul Acquah's father in Ghana.

Paul Acquah, a key player for Wazito FC, had played a crucial role in the team's promotion to the Kenyan Premier League and was expected to be a vital part of the team's plans for the next season.

The club took to social media to announce the sad news and express their condolences to Paul Acquah and his family.

"On another sad note, please join us in condoling with Paul Acquah who has lost his dad. We stand with him and the family in prayer during this difficult time. May God's favor and abundance be upon them. May they celebrate his life as a treasure to humanity. RIP," the club said in a statement.

Despite the loss, Wazito FC has continued with its pre-season preparations in Rongai, under the leadership of coach Stanley Okumbi, who is expected to lead the team to a strong performance in the league next season.
