Apostle James Maina Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism Centre has sparked controversy with his recent statements regarding the fatal road crash that killed Mercy Njeri.
Statement on Jail Time ¶
Ng’ang’a expressed his readiness to go to jail for his alleged crime, stating that those criticizing him can "go to hell." He claimed that prison is like a second home to him, having been incarcerated before.
"Let me be jailed. I do not fear prison because I have been imprisoned before and therefore to me, jail is just like a second home,"
Despite this, Ng’ang’a maintained his innocence, denying that he or his car were responsible for Mercy’s death. However, he declined to confirm or deny whether he was in Naivasha on the day of the incident.
Call for Investigation ¶
Ng’ang’a urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter, saying, "Let me be arrested, there are laws in this country and police are supposed to do their work of investigation and get to the bottom of this matter, which has now damaged my reputation."
As an ex-convict who previously served time at Shimo la Tewa Prison in Mombasa, Ng’ang’a’s words have raised questions among Kenyans about his potential guilt in the death of Mercy Njeri.
