A wealthy Luo man, Jared Otieno, recently delivered dowry to his fiancée's home in Meru, accompanied by a large motorcade of expensive cars and at least four helicopters on standby.
The event, which took place on a Saturday, brought the town to a standstill. According to reports, Jared is not an ordinary individual, as he owns a customized Porsche valued at approximately Sh30 million.
In May of the same year, Jared spent a reported Sh15 million on a ceremony to receive his fiancée, Kendi Mwiti. During this event, he flew her family to Ndhiwa in three helicopters, with Jalang'o serving as the master of ceremonies. Jalang'o described the scene to the media, saying, "I trust this will be the wedding of the year. You should have seen the convoy of 18 Range Rovers and the Porsche Cayenne Jared was driven in. Literally, Ndhiwa came into a standstill. All hotels had been booked by the Meru team and we had to sleep in the cars. The cheapest drink was Black Label,"
Jared's recent visit to Meru to deliver dowry was also attended by several politicians. Photos from the event show a grand display of wealth and luxury.
