The environment is an essential part of living that needs to be taken care of for overall well-being. This was emphasized on World Environment Day.

Suzanne Owiyo, the UNEP national goodwill ambassador, launched the 'Soko Bila Waste – Every little thing Counts' initiative. The goal is to sensitize vendors, consumers, and farmers about the importance of reducing food wastage throughout the distribution chain.

Julie Gichuru and other celebrities have shown their support for the initiative by carrying baskets over their heads.
