Chelsea Defeats Barcelona 2-1 in Rakuten Cup Pre-Season Match ¶
Chelsea's Tammy Abraham and Ross Barkley led the team to a 2-1 win over Barcelona in the Rakuten Cup pre-season tournament on July 23, 2019, in Japan.
Barcelona, who kicked off their 2019-20 pre-season at the Saitama Stadium in Saitama, Japan, started with new signing Antoine Griezmann in the lineup.
Abraham scored the first goal for Chelsea in the 33rd minute, assisted by Jorginho, while Barkley netted the second goal in the 80th minute.
Barcelona's Ivan Rakitic reduced the deficit in the 90th minute, but Chelsea held on to claim the win.
