On July 23, 2019, State House spokesperson Kanze Dena addressed the arrest of Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich and his Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge, just before they were arraigned in court.
Ms Dena described corruption as a 'cancer that is eating away the Kenyan soul,' emphasizing the need for unity in the fight against graft.
She attributed President Uhuru Kenyatta's leadership in the anti-corruption war, stating, 'Corruption is a cancer that is eating away the Kenyan soul and we all agree that for us to succeed as a nation, we must unite in fighting it. That’s why the president is leading the corruption war from the front.'
Ms Dena assured Kenyans that President Kenyatta remains committed to winning the fight against corruption, urging citizens to unite in the effort.
