Ciku Muiruri has addressed Al-Shabaab in a message regarding the Garissa attack, where 147 Christian students lost their lives.
According to Muiruri, the students' deaths can be seen as a beautiful one, as defenders of their faith. She assumes Al-Shabaab deliberately chose this time because it is Easter, a day when Christ laid down his life.
Muiruri draws parallels between the events of the crucifixion and the actions of Al-Shabaab, stating that just as there was an angry mob that mocked Jesus, Al-Shabaab is doing the same by killing innocent people. However, she emphasizes that Jesus forgave those who wronged him, saying 'Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.'
In her message, Muiruri forgives Al-Shabaab, filling her heart with love instead of hate. She believes that the students who were killed will rise again, as promised by eternal life through belief in Jesus. Muiruri concludes by stating that Al-Shabaab's plan to disrupt Easter has instead reminded her of its true meaning and purpose.
