According to reports, Raila Odinga was in secret communication with CORD and Jubilee politicians who were being held at Pangani Police Station over hate speech remarks. The six legislators reportedly used a 'Mulika Mwizi' phone that was sneaked into the cells to stay in touch with the outside world.
Kitutu Masaba MP stated, "With the ‘Mulika Mwizi’ phone, we managed to speak with our families, CORD leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Moses Wetang’ula."
Moses Kuria also confirmed receiving a lunch invitation from Raila Odinga, which he accepted. As quoted by the Standard, Mr. Kuria said, "Raila requested if I could join him for a meal of fish once we are released. I accepted though with a minor condition — that he assures me my favorite vegetable ‘Osuga’ will be in plenty, which he committed himself to. I will hold him to his word."
Additionally, MP Ngunjiri revealed that he would not mind attending a rally graced by CORD leader Raila Odinga as a sign of reconciliation.
