Nation Media Group, Standard Group, and Royal Media Services have been accused of stalling the transition to digital TV in Kenya, which was initially scheduled to occur over a year ago.
According to reports, the media houses, through their respective stations, including NTV, QTV, KTN, and Citizen TV, have utilized the court system to delay the process while pushing for licenses to facilitate digital transmission.
A court ruling granted the media houses their requested licenses, yet they continue to express dissatisfaction.
In recent advertisements, the media houses explicitly warned consumers against purchasing decoders from pay TV providers GOtv and Startimes, mentioning the companies by name.
