President Uhuru Kenyatta has received letters from several high-ranking officials indicating their decision to step aside from their positions. This move aims to facilitate investigations into alleged corruption.
Those who have stepped aside include Energy Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir, Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi, Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary Michael Kamau, and Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Felix Koskei. Additionally, Kenya’s Deputy Head of Mission to South Africa, Jane Waikenda, has also taken this step. They are among a group of ten officials, including six principal secretaries and one ambassador, who have made this decision.
