Job Mwaura, a reporter at K24, has proposed to his colleague Nancy Onyancha, a news anchor at the same station.
The proposal took place with gospel singer Bahati and his girlfriend Diana Marua in attendance. Mwaura reportedly popped the question and received a positive response.
Mwaura and Onyancha's relationship had previously been the subject of controversy. In 2016, Mwaura's ex-wife, Diana Kimanthi, publicly accused him of neglecting her and their 3-year-old daughter, who lives in poverty in Kayole.
At the time, sources alleged that Onyancha was responsible for the end of Mwaura's marriage, claiming that she had started an affair with him and caused him to forget his family. Mwaura and Onyancha met in 2010 but did not start dating until 2014.
The couple's relationship had been under scrutiny, with some Kenyans labeling Onyancha a 'husband snatcher' due to her involvement with Mwaura while he was still married.
