Musalia Mudavadi reportedly met with Raila Odinga at a social event where he made a demand before considering rejoining the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
According to the account, Mudavadi told Odinga: I am coming back home, but before I reach, please ensure that everybody is a registered voter in the lake side. Hii kazi tunataka kumaliza mapema.
This translates to ensuring everybody qualified to vote is registered.
Background ¶
Mudavadi's influence in Kenyan politics began to decline in 2011/12 when he started aligning with the Kibaki side of the coalition government. He later joined the United Democratic Forum (UDF) party, which was associated with Mary Wambui, and briefly participated in a Jubilee alliance before being dropped.
In the 2013 presidential elections, Mudavadi ran and received approximately 400,000 votes, placing third behind Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta.
