Published on July 23, 2019, Arsenal are on the verge of securing a major coup with the confirmation of a loan deal for Dani Ceballos.
The 22-year-old Spanish midfielder is set to join the Gunners on a temporary basis, with the club beating off competition from Tottenham to secure his services.
According to Unai Emery, the club's head coach, Ceballos has been a long-term target, and the team has been working tirelessly to make the deal a reality.
Emery praised Ceballos, saying, "Ceballos is a very good player. I know him from Betis at the beginning and Real Madrid. He played very well in the Under-21s, his national team won the competition. He is one eight and 10 player."
The loan deal is a significant coup for Arsenal, who have been working within a limited budget of £45m this summer.
However, the club's attempts to sign Celtic's Kieran Tierney have stalled due to valuation issues, while a deal for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha also looks increasingly unlikely.
