Kenya Closes Schools Amid Teacher Strike

The Kenyan government has announced the closure of all public and private schools, including teacher training colleges (TTCs), effective Monday.

National exams will proceed as scheduled. However, Form 4 students and Class 8 pupils are permitted to remain in school to prepare for their exams. The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) is set to begin on October 12, while the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) will start on November 10.
