Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed recently suffered a setback when she lost her bid for the chairperson of the African Union Commission to Chad's Moussa Faki Mahamat.
Despite her loss, Nairobi has celebrated her return with pomp and colour. Amina was received by Gender Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki and a group of other women leaders and women in Jubilee.
Reports indicated that some East African countries, including Uganda, did not vote for her. However, Uganda has since refuted these allegations.
Amina's homecoming ceremony was held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi, where she was met with song and praise. The event was meant to celebrate her achievements.
It has been confirmed that Amina will continue serving as the Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary.
