Published on July 23, 2019, Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has announced plans to auction aircraft abandoned at Wilson Airport.

The authority has invited interested bidders to participate in a public auction of the aircraft, which will take place on August 9. The auction will feature planes from various companies and individuals, including Fly 540, Profile Investment, and Air Kenya Express.

The aircraft will be sold on an 'as-is-where-is' basis, with prices ranging from Sh94,300 to Sh10 million. The most expensive aircraft, a Hulanda with registration 5H-KLA belonging to Tandill Limited, will be sold for Sh10,045,000.

According to KAA, the planes are considered a safety risk and have been abandoned at the airport for an extended period. The authority has given owners of the planes 30 days to remove them or face auction.
