Ferdinand Waititu has announced his intention to run for the Kiambu governor seat in 2017.
Waititu is described as a humble individual from a humble background, who represents the interests of Kiambu.
His decision to exit the Nairobi governor race may be seen as beneficial to Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, who is also eyeing the Nairobi governorship in 2017 and hopes to consolidate votes from the lower end of Nairobi.
