Emily Kachote, 25, a financial advisor and recent winner of the Miss World Zimbabwe title, has sparked controversy after leaked photos surfaced on social media platform Whatsapp.

The photos, which allegedly show Kachote in compromising situations, were claimed to have been taken by a former boyfriend. Kachote has reportedly confirmed the authenticity of the photos.

According to Tendai Chirau, spokesperson for the Miss World Zimbabwe pageant, an investigation is underway. Chirau told The Chronicle,

We're yet to engage Kachote and the people involved in this whole issue and we're still investigating. When we sit down with Emily to get her side of the story and if our investigations find that this is true then we've no option but to dethrone her and replace her with the first princess Anne-Grace [Mutambu]. We're being guided by the rules and statutes of Miss World on the issue of such pictures.

Kachote expressed hope that the photos would have been deleted, stating in an interview with H-Metro,

I was hoping the pictures would have been deleted by now since it happened a long time ago and I last spoke to the guy a year ago and I no longer have anything to do with [him] since what we had ended a long time ago. I have always suspected that those pictures would circulate but it happened a long time ago and I believe my past does not determine where I am going.

The incident bears resemblance to a similar case last year involving former Miss World Zimbabwe Thabiso Phiri, who resigned after leaked photos allegedly of her surfaced. There are suggestions that the same individual may be responsible for leaking photos of both Kachote and Phiri.
