Published on July 23, 2019, three students from Makueni Girls High School are facing serious allegations after being arrested for planning to poison their classmate.

The incident unfolded when the three Form Two students, all aged 15, allegedly conspired to use chemicals stolen from the school's laboratory to harm their 15-year-old classmate.

The motive behind the alleged poisoning plot was a dispute over a boyfriend, a student at the neighboring Makueni Boys High School.

According to the school principal, one of the accused students had recruited her friends to help her 'punish' the intended victim.

However, the plan was foiled when one of the accused students snitched on the plot to their class prefect, revealing the shocking details.

The trio had allegedly stolen hydrochloric acid, Benedict's solution, and phenolphthalein indicator, designating one of them to lace the victim's plate with the poison while the others kept vigil.

Fortunately, the plan failed when the executor refused to carry out the task, leading to a quarrel among the accused students.

The three suspects are currently being held at Makueni Police Station as investigations into the allegations continue.
