Premier League footballer Victor Wanyama's home in Winchester, Hants, was burgled while he played for Southampton at Aston Villa.
On Monday night, during a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa in Birmingham, Wanyama's South coast home was robbed of several valuable items, including a £60,000 Range Rover Sport, three televisions, electronics, designer clothing, and jewellery.
According to a spokeswoman for Hampshire police, officers are investigating the burglary, which occurred between 8:30 am on November 23 and 2:15 am on November 25. The thieves forced entry into Wanyama's home in the St Cross area of Winchester and stole various items, including the keys to the Range Rover Sport, which was then taken from the driveway.
The stolen vehicle was later recovered in Iver, Buckinghamshire, during the early hours of the following day.
A source close to Wanyama stated,
It seems the thieves had ample time considering he was not in the house. They turned the house upside down and he is still in shock. The police have been called in and investigations have started.
