Senator Mike Sonko has spoken out about the importance of using protection to prevent HIV. He advised young men and women to either abstain or use condoms, citing the high rate of HIV cases in Kenya.
Sonko expressed shock at Kenya being the 4th largest country in the world with HIV cases, asking rhetorically, 'Are we losing the fight against HIV?' He emphasized the need for protection, saying, 'Why don't you use a condom if you can't abstain?' He also warned the youth about the dangers of unprotected sex, saying, 'Wachana na dry fry utakufa bure' (stop having unprotected sex, you will die for nothing).
