Adeso, an African-based international development and humanitarian organization, is seeking a receptionist for its Nairobi office. The position is available for a four-month period, starting October 1, 2014, and is a maternity cover.
The successful candidate will report to the Office Administrator and work closely with all Adeso programs and departments. The salary range for the position is Kshs. 82,745 - 87,710.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities ¶
- Manage the front office/reception area, including guiding and welcoming visitors, answering calls, and responding to enquiries.
- Ensure the smooth operation of the office, including making timely purchases of stationery supplies and tracking movement of documents.
- Process payments for the Operations/Logistics department as required.
- Perform general clerical duties, including photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
- Assist in preparing for meetings and making arrangements for staff as needed.
- Order and refill office supplies in a timely manner.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications ¶
The ideal candidate will have a minimum diploma in administration/office management or a related field, as well as relevant work experience in a similar position. Excellent IT skills, particularly in Word, Excel, and Outlook, are also required.
- Required skills include the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, strong communication skills, and a professional and friendly communication style.
- Desired skills include at least three years of relevant experience in office administration and logistics, as well as experience working for an NGO with diverse cultures.
