African nations had a notable presence in the 2014 World Cup, with countries like Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, and Algeria participating. Ghana's national team made a significant impression in the 2010 World Cup, reaching the quarterfinals before losing to Uruguay. In the context of the 2014 World Cup, held in Brazil, various African teams were represented.

In an effort to gauge support among Kenyans for these African teams, a survey was conducted. The results provided insight into which teams Kenyans were backing during the tournament.
