Following President Uhuru Kenyatta's directive to crack down on fake alcohol brands, the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) issued suspension letters to manufacturers of 367 alcoholic beverage brands on July 4, 2015.
According to a statement by Charles Ongwae, the managing director of KEBS, this move is part of the government's efforts to tighten the war against illicit brew.
