Following the revelation that a Twitter influencer allegedly received Sh8,000 to tarnish the reputation of a Kenyan corporation, Kenyans on Twitter created the hashtag #ThingsYouDoWith8K to share their thoughts on what they could do with that amount of money.

According to tweets from Kenyans on Twitter (KOT), Sh8,000 can go a long way - from covering rent for a month in a bedsitter to funding a breakup with a girlfriend.

Tweets ranged from practical to humorous. @joshuanyach suggested donating the money towards surgery for someone in need, referencing the #GiveEzra fundraiser for Ezra Momanyi, a university student with lymphoma cancer.

Other tweets were more light-hearted, with @kabanya joking about buying Pastor Ng’ang’a a vocabulary, and @ajenjo proposing to take @JulieGichuru on a date and having her cover any remaining expenses.

@AMKAYQUELIVE posted about buying condoms and donating them to sex workers in Koinange, while @Jenz_john and @dennis_migono made humorous comments about using the money to produce music or pay for a girl's education in moaning at the Nairobi Aviation School.

The tweets showcased the diverse and creative ways Kenyans on Twitter think Sh8,000 could be utilized.
