The National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition has announced plans to hold its first public rally in Eldoret Town, which is the hometown of Deputy President William Ruto, a Jubilee Party stronghold.

According to Raila Odinga, one of the NASA leaders, the rally will take place on Saturday, February 25.

This move comes after NASA leaders signed an agreement to work together to unseat Jubilee in the August 8 polls.

Background

NASA has officially been registered after its leaders, including Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula, and Musalia Mudavadi, signed an agreement to collaborate.

The coalition's decision to hold a rally in Eldoret Town signifies its intention to gain support in Jubilee Party strongholds, following a recent rally in Bomet County, another area where the two factions are competing for votes.

Upcoming Elections

Kenya is scheduled to go to the polls on August 8, 2017, and NASA is expected to unveil its presidential candidate in the coming days.
