Flamboyant Nairobi Senator, Mike Mbuvi Sonko, has denied rumors that he was evicted from his home in Runda due to non-payment of rent.
According to Sonko, the house in question is owned by him through the parliamentary mortgage scheme. He also highlighted his wealth, listing properties he owns in Nairobi and Mombasa.
Sonko stated that each of his four daughters owns a house in Runda, which he purchased for them. Additionally, he owns several parcels of land in Nairobi and Mombasa, along with multiple homes.
As Sonko explained, "Each of my four daughters has a house in Runda. They all have their houses and construction is ongoing. I also own four parcels of land along Mombasa Road, the last one I bought for Sh50 million. This year, I also bought land and built a home for my wife for Sh70 million in Maanzoni, I also bought another house along Kiambu road. How can someone claim I am broke and can't pay for my rent yet I have several homes in Nairobi and Mombasa?"

Sonko vowed to deal ruthlessly with those spreading lies about him. The denial comes after rumors circulated that he owed Sh15.8 million in rent.
