On July 23, 2019, a video of a young woman in bed with comedian Eric Omondi sparked widespread attention and speculation.
Asumpta Waeni, a 20-year-old Kenyan actress and video vixen, was mistakenly identified as Tanzanian socialite Hamisa Mobetto due to their striking resemblance.
Waeni has now spoken out, refuting claims that she is dating Omondi.
During an Instagram Q and A, Waeni clarified that she and Omondi have never been in a relationship.
Eric Omondi initially refused to reveal the lady's identity, but online detectives quickly uncovered Waeni's true identity within hours.
"I'm surprised that people think the lady is Hamisa," Omondi said at the time. "Though I cannot reveal her name, I wish to clarify that the lady is not Hamisa Mobetto. As you can see in the video, I was asleep, so I couldn’t precisely know that she was taking a video. But, to be honest, it’s just a simple video that doesn’t prove anything."
