A former university comrade of Ababu Namwamba, who wishes to remain anonymous, has made allegations against the Budalangi MP. The individual claims that Namwamba betrayed fellow students during his time at the University of Nairobi.

The comrade alleges that in 1997, Namwamba, then a student leader, met with other leaders to discuss issues affecting their peers. The meeting reportedly took place at night, ahead of Graduation Day, which was to be attended by President Moi. The students planned to disrupt the event due to their dissatisfaction with the administration.

However, the next morning, the students found themselves surrounded by armed General Service Unit (GSU) officers. It is alleged that Namwamba had secretly reported the students' plans to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Gichanga, who then informed State House. This led to the arrest of several student leaders.

Allegations of Betrayal

The comrade claims that Namwamba's actions that day proved him to be a traitor, and that he cannot be trusted. These allegations have surfaced amid speculation about Namwamba's loyalty to his party, following a meeting with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
