A 39-year-old Kenyan woman, Esther Nyambura Muchina Dobie, was shot dead by her husband in Savage, Minnesota, according to police reports.

Authorities believe the shooting occurred following a domestic altercation at the couple's home in the 9300 Block of 125th Street. The woman's husband, 41-year-old Rodney Terrell Dobie, is accused of using a 9mm Glock handgun to shoot Muchina once in the head before fatally shooting himself.

Evidence and Context

Police were alerted to the incident after Muchina failed to report for work, prompting a welfare call from her employer. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the couple's bodies in a bedroom, along with an open garage door and an unsecured service door.

According to Savage Police Sergeant Michael Schiltz, Muchina's absence from work was highly unusual, and she was last seen leaving her workplace on March 28, 2015.

Response and Consequences

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner are assisting the Savage Police Department with the investigation. Neighbors reported that the couple mostly kept to themselves, describing them as reclusive.

A neighbor, Mr. Rommel Malinis, expressed shock and concern over the incident, stating that it was scary to have something like that happen in the area.

The Hennepin County medical examiner's office released the identities of the two individuals involved, and authorities had to contact Muchina's relatives in Kenya before making the information public.

A family member, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that the community has been gathering for prayers and intends to hold a fundraiser to assist with transporting Muchina's body to Kenya for burial.
