On July 22, 2019, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko made a significant move by appointing Charles Kerich as the 'Super CEC' to oversee the county's 10 sectors.

This appointment is reminiscent of President Uhuru's decision to promote Interior CS Fred Matiang'i to a 'super' CS.

As the newly appointed 'Super CEC', Kerich will be responsible for supervising the county's 10 sectors by implementing and coordinating programmes.

According to an executive order issued by Sonko, Kerich's new role includes receiving reports from all CECs and providing supervisory leadership throughout the delivery cycle of all county government projects.

Additionally, Kerich will be required to monitor and evaluate the follow-up mechanisms for resources allocated to all sectors and priority programmes and projects to ensure proper utilization of the targeted outcomes.

As stated in the executive order, Kerich's responsibilities will also include overseeing the implementation and communication of all county government projects and presenting accurate and timely progress to Sonko.
